I am DENIM

I am a normal person. I care about politics. I usually vote for the most progressive candidates on the ballot. I want to keep our society on course.

This partisan divide is a real threat facing our society. Can we work together to ensure our society lives up to our philosophical ideals? Are we going to give up all the recent gains and go back to the failed policies of the past?

I like working with both BLUEs and AQUAs because we all believe in our country's transcendental ideals of freedom and equality. Sometimes BLUEs are a little to quick to sell out to this or that vested interest, but their hearts are generally in the right place. AQUAs are great, too, but some of their ideas just can't work in the real world.

GRAY people are so confused and apathetic... They don't seem to understand that their neutrality is what enables the reactionary status quo.

GREEN people are so stuck on their "Big Brother is coming to get me" arguments that they're missing the bigger picture. It's time to move on, to learn from history, and to stop making excuses for greedy corporations and reactionary bigots.

The solution the social Darwinist YELLOWs offer to every problem seems to be to kick the losers to the curb and then suck up to the winners. Have they no compassion at all for those who are failed by society? Wrapping inequality and wage-slavery in the American flag doesn't make it any more right.

But the worst factions are the REDs and ORANGEs. They seem to think social and political institutions were designed for their own empowerment. They foster discrimination and exploitation whenever it's to their personal benefit. They clawed their way to the top, and are willing to do whatever it takes to hold on to power. No matter how tilted the playing field gets, they keep insisting they earned everything fair and square. Shameless hypocrites.

I am DENIM. There are many who, like me, look forward to a brighter future for our society.
